About Madrid |
||||
|
Sheltered by the central mountain range
and the hills of Toledo, the capital of Spain is located in the center of
the Iberian Peninsula. Today, Madrid is a modern economic and cultural centre,
but the traces of its more than 500 years of history are visible throughout
the city.
Although Madrid shares the latitude of Naples and Istanbul, its climate is more continental, with pronounced contrasts between day and night, sun and shade, and summer and winter. The weather is usually warm and sunny. The mean maximum air temperature is 25ºC, but nights can already get chilly. For more information on Madrid click here .
